What a difference a day makes. Over the last three stages we've had three different teams taking the stage by the balls for three different reasons. On stage 7 we had Cannondale sticking it to the sprinters, on stage 8 we had Sky sticking it to everyone and today we had Movistar sticking it to Sky.
The Froome-Dog stayed cool, but the rest of the Sky Procycling Cycling Team team were left flailing in the Spainsh squad's wake. Biggest loser was that Richie Porte. Things were looking good for the lad after yesterday's stage and his second place on GC. But today the wheels fell off big time and he lost 18 minutes. No podium spot for you Richie.
So, if you thought the race was over after yesterday, (like I did) I guess you were wrong, (like me). At least we can rely on commenters such as DerekandMartha Larson for some truly insightful race analysis. Well DerekandMartha, if Sky don't see you moronic comments at CyclingNews, rest assured that they'll see them on this Blog, such is the reach and influence of the Tours de Pances.
With all the drama, it's easy to forget that young Irish/Birmingham lad and Stephen Roche's nephew Dan Martin won his first Tour stage. Good on him, he's in my team.
Changes in the race, changes in the league. A good score today from Mungo, but he's got work to do. The Kloefekappers slip down to third overall, as the Chanbots move into the lead. Who's that in second place?
