Fantasy Vuelta: Bumper Catch-Up Post

Are we up to Stage 7 already?  Last thing I remember it was Stage 3 - I need to lay off the Rohypnol.  Looks like I've got some work to do.................

Stage 4 then and Daniel Moreno was the man that was winning.  He's had a good year and as J-Rod isn't getting any younger he could start to be a serious contender for the Grand Tours.

Drew was the king for the day...

Then we had Stage 5, which was a bit of sprint.  Some lad called Micheal Matthews won, he's on that Orica GreenEdge team. I really should start paying more attention to them, as they have some good riders, but I always forget which are the good ones.

Young Craigatron was pleased with how Stage 5 turned out.

Stage 6 almost saw a win for Tony Martin after a plucky long-distance solo move that was caught just before the line. Micheal Morkov won though.

Drew did well for the day again.  I did rubbish.

And onto Stage 7, where ex-Cyclocross World Champ Zdenek Stybar got the better of current Road World Champ after they sneaked away in the closing kms. I think it goes to show that guys who ride Cross are super-cool.

All of which brings us about up to date.... apart from the scores that is, as today's aren't in just yet. Still let's give Drew his moment of glory, as he leads the league after stage 6.

Fantasy Vuelta Stage 3: Nobody Puts Horner in the Corner

I don't know about you, but I'm not as young as I used to be.  Pro cyclists are like Policemen, when I was a lad they all seemed so big and now they seem like a bunch of kids.  There are still a few pros out there who are older than me though.  There's "Big" Jens Voigt and then there's Chris Horner, who won yesterday.

Good on him I say, that will teach those young upstarts like Peter Sagan.  Although, if you ask me, Horner has his bars too high in an old man stylee. I don't think we'll see this bike on Slam that Stem.

Upstarts of the league yesterday were Enrico 666.

Which means that Enrico has sneaked ahead of those Kloefekappers.
