Fantasy Tour Stage 4: Gerrans and Gang Grasp Glory

Kings of the Team Time Trial today were Orica-GreenEdge. They beat off Omega-Pharma by one second to take the stage...........And put Simon Gerrans in the Yellow Jersey.

In a cruel twist of irony, Cannondale's Ted King was not the king of the stage.  He was hurt in that stage 1 crash and had to soldier on alone after being dropped by the Cannondale train. The poor lad missed the time cut off by 7 seconds according to the race organisers. He thinks different, but it looks like he won't be starting tomorrow.

Anyway, it was another good day for GreenEdge after Gerrans'  win yesterday. They have spent a lot of money trying to set up Australia's answer to Sky, but Tour de France success had so far eluded them. Good luck to 'em, but I can't help thinking that their team-name should be some kind of lawn-care product.

Meanwhile, in doping news. The much anticipated results of the retro-active EPO tests from the 1998 Tour have been delayed for a little while to prevent a big shitstorm on the same day as the Ventoux stage. I said I'd try and stay away from the Cycling News comments section, but who could have put it better than ellenbrook2001?

In scores news, it's still the Kloefekappers on top, with the Bile Beans not too far behind. Best score of the day though went to the Evil Dr Chan, who is steadily climbing up the table.

Stage 5 tomorrow then. There will be a break. It will get caught. But who will win? I hear Cav has been suffering with bronchitis, maybe I should have another wager on Kittel, or will Sagan get the win that has eluded him so far this year?
