Fantasy Tour Stage 7: Cannondale make sprinters Crack 'n Fail

Peter Sagan and his Cannondale team-mates had obviously been plotting over their pasta last night. In a stage that had bunch-sprint written all over it, they drilled it on the climbs, shelled out all the burly sprinters and set up a win for Sagan. Love him or loathe him, you have to admit the boy has class.

So, in a day where most of the usual suspects were left behind, the way was clear for Tony Gallopin to finish in 6th. Good news for me, as I'm king of the stage! Tony has a lot more work to do for the Bile Beans though, as I passed up on Alexander Kristoff to buy him. Someone who didn't pass up on Kristoff is Jan Van Belleghem and that's probably while he's winning right now.

The first week was fun wasn't it? But the real race starts tomorrow, with mountains and the like. So far, we've seen how well our sprinters and roulers are doing, but it's the climbers that can make or break a Velogames team. I'm hoping for something from Mollema, who's earned 0 points for me so far. Time to get on it Bauke, not to mention my Garmin duo of Martin and Talanksy.

  1. I know you'll be struggling for things to say on the rest day, so can I get some insight into your team selection tactics please? You always play your cards close to your chest, but a few tip might make it more challenging for you next year. Whoever had heard of Kwickatwatski and yet he's bagged you 200 points ffs!
