FTDF 2016 Stage 5 - Le Monde De Greg

That Greg Van Avermaet eh? A quality rider, who often just misses out. Luckily for him, the Belgian rider just missed out on being banned last year by the Belgian Federation, over some interesting pharmaceutical practices in Belgium. All that aside though, he did an impressive ride today, taking the Stage from the day's break and taking the Yellow Jersey into the bargain.

And although they weren't proper mountains in the traditional sense, I don't fancy the chances of Contador or Nibali of taking the Yellow jersey any time soon after their performances today. Nibali especially, seemed to be done pretty early on in the stage.

Prince of scores for the day was little Peter Harrison, who I'm sure picked his team all by himself.

History continues to repeat itself, as just like last year Drew continues to lead the league through early stages. I anticipate that just like last year he'll be toast come the end of the race. Of course I'm only saying this as I'm mad about slipping down to third.

Stage 6 and you might as well make yourself a cup of cocoa now, as it looks like another one of those sprint stages. Just set your alarm for the last 10 minutes.
