Giro 2014 Stage 8 - Diego Does It; Arrendondo Don't

As the race headed into its second week, we finally got to see some beautiful mountain views.

Bile Beans climber Julian Arrendondo was away for much of the stage, but I was upset to see him caught on the slopes of the final climb.  On the plus side, he did earn himself the climbers Jersey for his trouble.

Most of the favourites were in the group that flew past Arrendondo on the way to the finish, but it was Diego Ulissi who timed it best and earned himself a another stage win.

The young Italian has had a great race so far, but when I hear his name it brings me back to my childhood and makes me think of this.

With Pink Jersey Micheal Matthews not built for climbing, it was no surprise to see his homeboy Cadel  Evans take over the lead.

Doing best for the day was newcomer OJ.
