Giro 2014 Stage 5 - Go Diego Go!

Italian cycling has been in a downward slide since the glory days in the 90's and early 00's, when everyone was on drugs.  Nibali's win at the Giro last year aside, it's been a while since an Eye-Talian (as Sean Kelly would say) has won a big race.  There are however signs of some quality young riders coming through and Diego Ulissi seems to have plenty of talent.  So it shouldn't have come as a huge surprise to see him winning on the uphill finish today.

Coming as more of a surprise was another big points haul for B-List Blogger and A-list Arsehole, Sir Vestan of Pance.

Another cheeky uphill finish tomorrow.  Maybe the rain will ease up a bit so that we'll see the legs and not the weather decide the race.
