TDF 2014 Stage 6 - Kittel Collapses, Greipel Gains

Just when it was looking like there was no stopping Marcel Kittel, he finally didn't win a sprint. Apparently he just didn't have the legs, luckily his homeboy Andre Greipel was there to keep the sprint crown on a German head.

Sprints aside, it was another wet day in the saddle for the peloton and there were plenty more splits and crashes on the way to Reims.  So if you have any of these guys, then no more points for you.

If you're team has been hit hard by crashes and poor form in the first week of the race, then your chances of winning the league are slim to none.  Sorry.  Don't worry though, for all is not lost.  You can still redeem yourself with a good showing in the King of the Mountains competition.  So why not pick a team and have a go?  After all, if you went for Cav and Froome in your main team, then you can't really do any worse.  The league code for the KOM competition is the same as the main Tour De Pance league, 27134154.

On to the scores for the day and another good result for my tip for the top ENRICO 666.

If we cast our eyes at the overall table, we see that Haxby Pharma are still in charge, but Mungo and the Olliepops are closing in.  And I think a special mention should go to Patches O'Houlihan, for a team that is making everyone else feel better by being so bad - well done!

We're almost at the end of the first-week sprint-fest.  Stage 7 is a bit uppy-hilly at the end, so might not favour the burlier riders.  Can Kittel get his mojo back? Or will it be someone else's turn to get the win?
