TDF 2014 Stage 17 - Majka Makes 2

Apparently, the Tour de France is still going on.  Forgive my ignorance, but since that Lance guy talked to Oprah, there doesn't seem so much Stateside interest in the bestest race ever.  If you are dedicated though, you can find some Tour coverage, (with Phil and Paul.......ugh!) somewhere between the professional eating and the monkey tennis.  Anyway, it looks like it was more good news for 'Billionaire Tyrant' Oleg Tinkoff today, with another stage win from his young charge Rafa Majka. He's a talent alright, although I think he might be a bit of a winker.

The young Pole is quite the revelation of the race, he's already ridden a solid Giro D'Italia and he was supposed to be putting his feet up this July, until Kreuziger was suspended for Biological Passport violations.  I'm not sure what the contract situation is at Tinkoff/Saxo, but if I was Alberto Contador, I'd be worried.

After all, without Contador on the books, Oleg will have plenty of cash to buy one of those Peter Sagans.  Then again, Oleg Tinkoff has more money than he knows what to do with, so he can probably sign whoever the fuck he wants.  Well, almost anyone he wants, I don't think Nibali is available and the Italian is not letting anything distract him from the top-step of the podium.

Hats off to Expensive Bike Pumps etc. for the most biggest points for the stage.

The battle for the podium spots is still on in the overall.  Olliepops are safe for now, but Mungo has moved ahead of that dickhead Vestan Pance.

In the KOM competiton, I really should remember to make some transfers in my team.  I was totally going to put Majka in, but then I forgot.  This is the only reason that Mungo is doing very well and the Bile Beans are not.

Stage 18 is probably the toughest of the race.  Nibali has it covered, but there's plenty of other battles going on to make sure it's an exciting stage.
