TDF 2014 Stage 3 - Kitttel Victorious in London Village

It looks like my hat will be safe for another day, as Marcel Kittel put on a text-book display of sprinting to take his second stage win in London.

Peter Sagan's second place gave Haxby Pharma and Doom of Froome a 1-2 for the stage and a nice slice of points for the day.

And so in the overall, Haxby Pharma take over the lead in the league, with Doom 'O Froome close behind.   They have certainly got the firepower to do well in the sprints, but fitting Kittel and Sagan into one team means that they have had to go cheap with the climbers.  While the opening week has plenty of opportunities, after Stage 7 we might have to wait till Paris for the next big sprint.  Time will tell if the Sagan/Kittel double-act can bank enough points before the real racing starts and the climbers start earning some points.

The race heads over to someplace called France for Stage 4.  Chances are it will be another sprint, which means chances are it will be another win for Kittel and more points for Haxby Pharma and Doom of Froome.
