Team time trial tests teams' time trial times

Gah! Still no scores! If he doesn't update soon I might have to work them out myself. Then again I just looked at the system and it's way too complicated, plus I don't know who's in any one's team. So bollocks to that, we'll just have to sit and wait I guess.

If the riders thought they'd have some better weather now they're in Italy, they were sadly mistaken. It was a showery old day on the 33km route from Savigliano to Cuneo and for the later starting teams, it was pissing down.

So the top ten looked like this:

1 Liquigas-Doimo 0:36:37
2 Sky Professional Cycling Team 0:00:13
3 Team HTC-Columbia 0:00:21
4 Team Katusha 0:00:27
5 Cervélo TestTeam 0:00:38
6 Astana 0:00:38
7 Omega Pharma-Lotto 0:00:46
8 Garmin-Transitions 0:00:49
9 Team Saxo Bank 0:00:50
10 Team Milram 0:00:57

It was close but no cigar for Team Sky. They lost a few riders over the course, but were leading until Liquigas came home and beat them by thirteen seconds. With all nine riders hanging on to the finish line, the boys in green won it by enough to make Vincenzo Nibali the fourth rider to wear the pink Jersey in four stages. Youngster Nibali was only drafted into the Liquigas squad at the last minute, to replace Franco Pelizzoti and his 'irregular' biological passport values. Now the team has the top three in the GC and they should be racking up the FGDI points for the next few days. Nibali and Basso could be a tricky pair to dislodge in the mountains, but the team will have to work hard to defend the jersey.

So Vino lost the pink jersey and his temper, the Astana team couldn't handle the pace set by their leader in the last few kms and he got all frustrated as he waited for the team's fifth man to cross the line. He's only 33 seconds off the lead though so he's far from out of the race.
