FTDF 2015 Stage 4 - Martin Masters Cobbled Conclusion

Stage 4 eh? They've been building it up for ages and even though we had some rain in the mix, we still didn't see the carnage we were promised. It's just as well I suppose, as that shit from yesterday looked painful. In fact, although we didn't have any DNFs after today, we did have some DNSs.

With less commotion than expected, the GC hopefuls mostly stayed together and kept out of trouble. Thibaut Pinot didn't have the best day, but he'd already lost plenty of time before he threw a little tantrum on the side of the road after his second mechanical of the day. As the fireworks never really materialised, it looked like there might be a fairly big group contesting the sprint. That is until Tony Martin went off up the road with a few km to go. He's been within spitting distance of the race lead since day 1, and his plucky move finally earned him some time in the Yellow Jersey.

It is worth noting that Martin took the stage win while riding a team-mates bike. Which just goes to show that all that all those bellends who spend several hundreds of the local currency on a "pro bike fit" are just pissing their money away. If they had any talent, they could win races on  any clown's bike.

Kings of the cobbles today were the Dudes.

In the Overall, Drew is back on top, and I must say, is doing quite nicely. The Bile Beans are still taking things easy in the first week, but at least there are now none of Richard Harrison's teams with more points.

Stage 5 should be a textbook sprint. Let's see if Cav can get his leadout right.

  1. This is my time. No matter how brief.
Mind you, it would help of Cancellara could stop breaking his back every time I pick him.
