FTDF 2015 Stage 16 - Plaza Gets a Gap in Gap

It seems like the Tour is always passing through Gap. And as long as it does so, I will continue to pad-out the blog with this picture.

While the Tour can boast some iconic climbs like Alpe d'Huez and the Tourmalet, there don't seem to be any similarly famous descents. But if there were, then surely the run-in to Gap would be one that every MAMIL would want to tick off his list - it's the scene of that time Beloki crashed in front of Lance and that time Andy Schleck complained that everyone else was going too fast and that time that Tommy V went through someone's front yard. This year we saw G Thomas get barged into a pole and Peter Sagan go down faster than your mom.

It wasn't fast enough though, as Ruben Plaza had already made the winning move and all the risk was for nothing.

The Kloefekappers take the Stage points again today.

Den's COYCC are back on top of the overall table, but Drew is only 4 points behind him.

It's the second rest day tomorrow, so let's all put our feet up and have a nice rest before the climbing starts again in the Alps on Wednesday.

  1. Another top blog entry, you should really autopost to Facebook or Twitter to increase your readership. Geraint could learn some comedy quips from you, even if he did probably have concussion.
