FTDF Stage 12 - It's Millar Time!

No not the unpleasant beer-flavoured drink.

But the cyclist David Millar.

Oh David Millar! It all started so well, winning all sorts of things in the late 90's, and then it turned out he was on drugs! I couldn't have been more surprised - oh, wait. Yes I could. And so, he became the Black Sheep of British cycling.

Anyway, since his 2-year ban and subsequent come-back, the wins have been harder to come by. He came close at the Giro a few years ago, when he was in a small break, but it all went wrong when he broke his chain. Although top marks for the bike-throw. Today, D-Mill - as I like to call him - finally got another Grand Tour stage win, when he outsprinted his breakaway companions to take the win.

Meanwhile, far, far behind, the peloton seemed content to take it easy and not get up to any funny business. Except for Matt Goss that is, who came off his line in the sprint against Sagan for green jersey points. The race judges were onto his tricks though, and fined him some points.

Another good day for the Bile Beans sees me slipping into second position in the league.

Just a few more points and I'll be winning this thing. Let's hope the success doesn't go to my head.

Onto tomorrow then. And it looks like another day off for the GC boys. I'm counting on the likes of Sagan, Goss and Chavanel  to get the points in for me.
