FTDF Stage 11 - Lucky Pierre

A tough old day in the Alps today, and I was encouraged to see Bile Beans recruits Peter Velits and Pierre Rolland away in the break. And although Velits fell by the wayside, Rolland held on to take the stage win.

Meanwhile, slightly down the road, the Froome-Dog was putting the hurt on the GC men. We saw Evans crack and lose his second place to Sky's super domestique.

Riders may have been dropping like flies in this year’s Tour, but it’s taken up till now for the first withdrawal from the Bile Beans squad. And so, I bid farewell to Lieuwe Westra. He nearly snatched Paris-Nice from Bradley Wiggins earlier this year, so I thought he might be a good pick. How wrong I was. He cost me 6 credits and earned me 0 points. Why, oh why, didn’t I go with JJ Haedo? Westra's failings aside, it was a pretty good day for the Bile Beans, with the highest score of the day bringing me within spitting distance of second place.

A break from hills tomorrow with a little something for a breakaway or Peter Sagan perhaps?
