TDF 2017 Stage 12 - Bardet Best, Froome Fades

Marcel Kittel's reign of terror is over for now, as the race hits the hills for a bit. Romain Bardet won today.

A fading Froome seemed to struggle on the steep final slopes. He lost contact with his rivals and lost the Yellow Jersey. We now have a new race leader in Fabio Aru, who is 6 seconds up on Froome. It's not a total disaster for Froome though, Team Sky won't have to defend the Jersey and taking 6 seconds back in the upcoming time trial should be a piece of piss.

Bardet's win didn't come without some controversy. There was a row about people getting bottles handed to them inside the final 20km. Personally I don't see the problem with people getting properly hydrated when required.

An impressive points haul for the Dagbladdits today.

TTITT are still up there in the overall, but that lead is being slowly eroded. I need to break out a spreadsheet so I can predict when they'll be off the top spot.

Stage 13 is only 100km or so long. It's packed with climbing action though, so it should be a corker.
