TDF 2017 Stage 17 - Roglic Crosses Line First

I'm pretty sure that Primoz Roglic was a character in Star Wars or Star Trek or somesuch. It turns out it's also the name of a Pro Bike Rider, who happened to win today's stage after some plucky breakaway antics.

A good day in the saddle for the Kloefekappers.

Barmbyworld are still forging ahead - they just lost Kittel though and I don't think they're going to be raking in those end-of-Tour points, so there may still be hope for another team to come out on top in Paris.

Stage 18 is the last chance for anyone to make a difference in the mountains. There might be a break up the road, but the GC contenders will be going hard up the Izoard to fight for those podium spots. Unless someone puts serious time into Froome, he'll have it sewn up after the time trial on Saturday.

  1. Yes, I was counting on a Kittel win on the Champs-Élysées to make up for a weaker CG. Dan Martin and Barguil have done better than I expected. Nevertheless, I'm almost as sad as Kittel and Quick Step must be. At least Martin will get what's left of the team riding for him today.
