TDF 2017 Stage 1 - Thomas Top, Valverde Valver-done

It was wetter than an otter's pocket for Stage 1 around Düsseldorf.


Being really quite impressive to take the win was Team Sky's Welsh Wonder, Geraint Thomas.



It was no big surprise to see a few folks hit the tarmac. Hitting it hardest were Ion Izagirre and Alejandro Valverde - for them the Tour is over.


Its far from over for the rest of them, but at this early stage, the early glory goes to Very Poor De France. It would take the piss out of them, but I'm staying round Jonathan's house and using his wifi, so I'll be nice - well done!
