Fantasy Giro Stage 5: Degendoodled

If you were around for the Vuelta last year, you may have noticed that John Degenkolb won a bunch of stages.  I didn't have a problem with that.  He was on my team.  I know what you're thinking, "the best sprinters don't bother with the Vuelta, Vestan".  And although that may be true, they do bother with the Giro.  The Argos-Shimano sprinter was able to make it over that climb that put an end to the hopes of Cav and Matt Goss, amongst others.  Then he employed the old 'let your lead-out-man crash and take advantage of the carnage' rouse to take the win.

He may have won.  But for some reason, I still don't trust Germans with mustaches.

All that carnage in the finale reminds me how fragile bike are these days.

I remember when someone could drive over your bike in a 4x4 and you could still ride home.

Which is why this Craigslist listing list caught my eye.

Really?  You paid $1400 for a Kirk Precision? The bike with all the aesthetic charms of a black&decker workmate?  A weight of nearly 3kg and horrible corrosion problems?  Still if he drops the price another couple of hundred I think I might bite.  How's about some scores? For the day:
