Not much else to mention, other than 2/3rds of the pre-race favorites have now quit the race. Bradley Wiggins and Ryder Hesjedal both decided not to start today.

The weekend approaches, so the Giro goes for some good tv ratings, with what should be an epic stage in the Alps - especially if the weather continues to be nasty. Nibali's lead is still pretty slim, so there should be plenty of people looking to put some time into him. He seems pretty strong though, I don't really fancy anyone's chances.
