Fantasy Vuelta Stage 6: Rodriguez Reigns in Red

Do you like a nice pie? I know I do, and today’s Vuelta stage in the Aragon region of Spain reminded me of a tasty Chicken of Aragon pie I had at the Green Man Festival one year, courtesy of the PieMinister (other pie retailers are available).

One person who probably doesn’t eat a lot of pies, is Joachim Rodriguez, who’s slight build suggests that he’s not big on pastry products. When there’s a short, steep climb like there was today, it’s a pretty safe bet that you’ll see J-Rod near the front of the race. You can’t get any nearer the front than first, and that’s where he finished today.

The Froome-Dog was close behind, as was Valverde, and maybe suffering a little bit and a few more seconds back, was Alberto Contador.

There’s not much changed in the minileague. The Rouleurs and the Bile Beans got exactly the same score today, so that means it’s still the Rouleurs on top.

It looks like it might be a sprint again tomorrow, so it could be a chance for the Rouleurs to get a few more crafty points at the Bile Beans expense.
