FTDF Stage 11 - Cav Comes Back

I don't know about you, but I've been on something of a Velogames roll of late. I'm hoping to turn my recent  success into hard cash by signing up for the Live Prize game. I've had to pick a new squad for the coming three stages, which I may reveal after the entries are closed tomorrow morning. I suspect my luck might be about to run out soon, with some big mountains on the way. The fortune cookie that rounded off my Chinese meal tonight, seemed to be of a similar opinion.

By the way, if my lucky numbers come up for any blog readers - I will be demanding a 50% share. Of course in the unlikely event that I don't win the Live Prize thingy, at least I'll be contributing a bit to a website that has provided me with plenty of amusement over the years. Thanks George.

Anyhooze, on with today's action. And another day for the sprinters it was. There was a six-man breakaway, with some strong guys in. But HTC and friends chased them down in the closing kms to set it up for the sprint. In a reversal of Yesterday's result, Cav beat Greipel into second spot.

And the Manxman earned himself enough points to take over the Green Jersey from Gilbert. Although he may have trouble keeping it over the next few days.

Much to my amazement, the Bile Beans are still doing quite nicely. In the next few days I need some stellar performances from Evans, Cunego and Gesink, otherwise I'll be shit out of luck.

Tomorrow we're off into the mountains with a finish up Luz-Ardiden. There'll be hills aplenty and the big GC contenders will finally get to test each other's legs out over some long climbs. I can't wait.
