Vuelta Stage 7 - Mohoric Motors Away

It seems like it's pretty tricky for a break to succeed in a Grand Tour these days. I'm used to seeing the plucky escapees hopes crushed, by a combination of cynical calculations and radio antics from some ex-pro trying to squeeze his expanding stomach behind the wheel of the Team Car. For whatever reason, it doesn't seem to be the case at the Vuelta this year. And I, for one, welcome this new trend. Today's plucky fucker was Matej Mohoric, who took a well deserved win.

Swelling with pride for the stage scores is Peter Sagan's Inflatable Pink Flamingo.

And Mungo is still the Mayor of Overall Scoresville.

Stage 9 should be another belter. There's a steep one at the end, but a bit of respite with a downhill to the finish, so maybe Nibali can get back on.
