Degenkolb's Cobbles Class

I have quite a soft spot for John Degenkolb.  He's done well for the Bile Beans in the past, he can sprint almost as well as his flat-topped team-mate Marcel Kittel, but he can get over the hills too.  So I was happy to see him take the sprint at Gent-Wevelgem.  Especially as he was on my team.

Doing quite nicely for the day were Enrico 666, who featured the first 4 men over the line.

And in the overall, Mungo still leads the Bile Beans.  The scores are still tight though and it's still all up for grabs as we head into the meaty part of the Spring Classics.  Unless you are the Smugblokes of course, who are trailing off the back like a man with a flat tyre and a broken collar-bone.

Coming up are my two favourite races of the Classics.  The Tour of Flanders on Sunday (or the Ronde van Vlaanderen if you want to be pretentious) then Paris-Roubaix the following weekend, with the minor distraction of Scheldeprijs in betweeen.  As they are both Cat 1 races, there's plenty of points on offer for the right team and a few transfers could make all the difference - if you have any to spare that is.
