Fantasy Vuelta - Start Weekend Round-Up

Hola!  I bet you were wondering where I had got to.  Well apologies for being a little late with the Tour de Pancing, but I had a busy weekend.

Let’s get on with it shall we?  Things kicked off on Saturday night with a nice little team time trial, which is best to get out of the way before too many riders fall off.  Astana rocked up to the Vuelta start-line with a strong squad this year, so no big surprise to see them do well.

In the mini-leauge, the Kloefekappers were off to an early lead.

Stage 2 didn’t mess around, it was straight into the mountains.

Nico Roche won the stage, but not far behind was pre-race favourite Nibali, who took the race lead.  If he’s going anywhere near as well as he was at the Giro, he could be holding onto the Red Jersey for quite some time.

So stage 2 went bestest for Enrico 666, the Kloefekappers were still right up there though.
