FTDF Stage 5 - Peter Sagan Shows Total Lack of Compassion for People Who Didn't Pick Him

Once again business as usual for first week fun. The Direct Energie team riders must have something written into their contracts that obliges them to take a chance in the suicide break of the day. Today was Sylvain Chavanel and Lilian Calmejane's turn to get on the TV.

With 4 road stages ticked off, we still only have 2 stage winners. Gaviria and Sagan seem to be taking it in turns to win the sprints, and today it was Sagan's turn.

There's no stopping the History Boys with these scores.

Stage 6 then, and there may be a possible break from the Sagan/Gaviria domination. The finish up the Mûr-de-Bretagne could see a few of the GC contenders throw their hats in the ring for a Stage win. Or Sagan could win again, but I'd rather he didn't.

FTDF Stage 4 - Sprintness As Usual

Week one of the Tour eh? There were a few surprises the first couple of stages, but today went pretty much according to the script. Break, catch and a sprint, which was won by the man who would seem to be Fernando Gaviria.

With a sprint pairing of Gaviria and Sagan, the History Boys are on top again. But will Warwick run out of steam in the mountains? I sure hope so.

The finish for Stage 5 looks a little more challenging, you know Sagan will be up there somewhere.

FTDF Stage 3 - BMC's TTT puts GVA in YJ

BMC just edged out Sky to take the win in the Team Trial.

Which puts Greg Van Avermaet into the Yellow Jersey instead of G Thomas, which was what Sky might have liked.

Hats off to GVA then, he's a pretty good rider and he's probably pleased with leading the Tour De France. Although I bet he's still pretty pissed off about not being able to beat my time on the "Full Throttle" segment on Stockton Lane.

There's not too many points up for grabs in the TTT, but the Chanbots got the most of them.

Some slight score re-calibrations have occurred for Stage 2, but you'll have to take my word for it. Still leading the pack are the History Boys.

Stage 4 is another one of those 'first week of the Tour' kind of stages.

FTDF Stage 2 - Sagan the Man Agan

I'll have to keep it brief, as I've been Excelling again. I think I've got it set up so that the team scores should be easier to calculate from here on out. And the Evil Dr Chan isn't as bad as he makes out, as he's done a top job helping with stage scores. It seems that the early stages of the early stages are pretty easy to predict. French guys up the road, etc..... As the finish line approaches though, things start to get a little more unpredictable. Things were looking good for Yellow Jersey Gaviria, until an tricky corner thinned the sprinter's group dramatically. Still upright, as usual, was Peter Sagan, who beat Sonny Colbrelli to the line.

So Peter Sagan now has the Yellow Jersey, not to mention the Green Jersey, and come to think of it the World and Slovak Champion's Jerseys. And a lot of points for you Sagan Selectors. Coming out on top today were the Chancers, whoever they are.

It's Team Time Trial time tomorrow. Some teams will do well, some won't.
