Vuelta Stage 6 - Valverde Shows no Pity in the Heat

It seems you just can't keep that old rogue Alejandro Valverde down.  After doing plenty of donkey work on the lower slopes of the final climb for his supposed team-leader, the sly-old-dog  slipped away from a very select group to take the stage ahead of the Froome-Dog and Contador.

The Valverdoodle also moved himself into the overall lead.

Meanwhile, in 120th spot was Peter-No-Points.
120
Peter Sagan (Svk) Cannondale

Mind you, he still did better than supposed climber Carlos Betancur, whose main goal for the Vuelta this year seems to be to hang around the back of the Peloton looking portly, (sorry Mungo).
190
Carlos Alberto Betancur Gomez (Col) AG2R La Mondiale
So the Stage 6 scores stacked-up like this, with the Rouleurs looking the most impressive in the mountains.

  1. No offense taken - he's on our special "Matt Goss" training schedule.
    Lookin' good!

Had Uran - still don't know why I changed... Moment of madness.
