And they're off! Some of them quite literally. Poor Tony Martin. He doesn't have the best luck does he?
If there's one thing you can bet on, it's that there'll be some crashes on the first road stage of the Tour. And crashes there were. Usually people blame the weather, the "street furniture" or "nerves". This time though, everyone was pointing the finger at the Orica-Greenedge Team Bus.
As you can see, it got a bit stuck under the finish line. While Frenchmen stood around shrugging their shoulders and exclaiming "Zut Alors!" and "Merde!" the peloton was steaming towards the line. So they decided to move the line up the road 3km. Then the bus got shifted and they moved it back again. This all lead to confusion and crashes for many a man. Time will tell what this means for the race in the long-run, but for the moment, Marcell Kittel gets his first Tour stage win and a day in the Yellow Jersey tomorrow. At least he's got rid of that stupid mustache.
So, to the scores and Craigatron is off to a good start. He seems to have picked a pretty solid line-up for someone who has yet to see his second birthday. He must have good genes.

I was a bit disappointed that the Bile Beans didn't do better today, but it's only Fantasy Cycling and in the real world, I was quite pleased with how things went today.
One stage down and plenty more to go. I'll try to keep on top of this blogging lark as best I can, but I' may well be driven mad by the idiocy of the comments section on CyclingNews before the end of the race. I could just stop reading them I suppose. If only something could be done about bell-ends on the Internet.
Stage 2 then. Looks like this:
A wee bit tough for the big sprinters, I would have gone for Sagan, but he looks to be short a fair amount of skin after today. So I'll tip Boasson Hagen.
