Vuelta Stage 4 - Big John Wins Jump

Stage 4 was another challenging day in Spain, with it being hot, hot, hot.  And with there being some tricky climbs before the finish.  One man who's good for a sprint after a few climbs is John Degenkolb, and he delivered another win for the Giant-Shimano sprint machine.

Another man who is good for a sprint after a few hills is Peter Sagan, but he continued his slide down the results today with a 126th place finish.  I think there are two possible reasons for this;  He is either A - sick or B - Doesn't give a fuck anymore after landing his multi-million Euro deal with Tinkoff.  I suspect it might be B.

Another good day for the Chanbots, who put three riders in the top 5 for the stage.

So Thee Chanbots are looking good at the top of the table.  With Stage 5 looking to be another one of those sprint-but-with-a-tough-climb-near-the-end type stages, we should see the same guys doing well.  i doubt we'll see much of Peter Sagan, he sucks.

Vuelta Stage 3 - Matthews Muscles Past Martin

On to Monday, and there was finally some good news for the Bile Beans, as Michael "Bling" Matthews took the stage ahead of Dan Martin and moved into the race lead.

Meanwhile, there was bad news for the Bile Beans, as Star Sprinter, Podium Groper and Major Investment, Peter Sagan finished in 129th spot, at over 3 minutes down on a stage where you wouldn't expect him to be at the rear.

Top scorers on stage 3 were the Chanbots, who also moved into the lead in the overall.

Vuelta Stage 2 - Bouhanni Best, Sagan Sags

Although I can't be certain, I'm pretty sure that my boss is not among the handful of people who read my blog, so seeing as she's out out today, I might as well try and clear my blog backlog, or backblog as I like to call it.....

If we cast our minds back to Sunday, we might remember that Nacer Bouhanni took the stage in quite convincing style, ahead of John Degenkolb. And a man you might think would be up there, Peter Sagan, was way, way back in 46th place.

So on Sunday the Bile Beans did pretty badly and Mungo did quite nicely

Vuelta Stage 1 - Movistar Motor Away

If you were along for the ride at the Vuelta two years ago, you may remember that Movistar won the opening team time trial and Jonathan Castroviejo took the first leader's jersey of the race.  Seeing as I'm pressed for time, you might as well just read my post from 2012, as things went down in a similar manner.  

The main difference between 2012 is the scores.  Back then the Bile Beans did OK, this year my boys were off to a more modest start as the Smugblokes take the early glory.
